Breaking Drum Festival of the Ma Coong
Breaking Drum Festival of the Ma Coong is held annually on the 16th of January in the lunar calendar, and is the largest and most important festival of this ethnic minority.
The Ma Coong people divide the festival into two parts: the ceremony and the festival. The ceremony begins with a Giang’s present, which includes sticky rice, fish, wine, young bamboo shoots, and branches of the doac tree, placed on a tray. At this time, the village elders kneel down and recite prayers to ask for the blessings of heaven and earth for the people to live in peace, have a bountiful harvest, and live well.
At the end of the ceremony, the village elders give the command and declare the start of the drum festival, which is also when the festival takes place. Hundreds of Ma Coong people rush in, taking turns to hit the drum that they have made. According to Ma Coong belief, the sound of the drum is the embodiment of their spiritual life, and the sound of the Ma Coong drum is not subdued by the hardships of life in the mountains and forests.

The Festival of the 3rd Lunar Month in Minh Hoa
The Festival of the 3rd Lunar Month in Minh Hoa is held annually on the 15th day of the third lunar month in two locations, Thac But and Quy Dat town. This is an occasion for people to come to Thac But to pray for favorable rain, wind, fortune, health, and to attend the market festival. The market festival is a place to buy agricultural products and goods of ethnic communities in Minh Hoa district, as well as to enjoy traditional dishes such as traditional Minh Hoa snails, caramelized grilled corn , and taro.
In addition to the market festival and the Thac But incense offering, the festival also hosts a variety of sporting events, including the men’s football championship, the volleyball championship, traditional sporting events, and traditional folk games like wrestling, swinging, and card games. Visitors can also take in cultural performances that feature distinctive folk music and dances that represent Minh Hoa’s unique identity.

The Quang Binh Cave Festival
The Quang Binh Cave Festival is held biennially and lasts for a month, ranging from June to August each year. The opening night will take place at one of the province’s scenic spots to introduce more than 400 magnificent and magnificent caves such as Phong Nha Cave, Son Doong Cave, En Cave, along with other famous landmarks to locals and tourists.

After the filling ceremony, when the rice on the field has turned yellow, the Bru-Vân Kiều people celebrate the new rice ceremony.
The Tria Lua festival of the Bru-Vân Kiều people, besides the ceremony, is a way to express gratitude to the gods, the land, and the rice god for blessing the locals with a bountiful harvest, healthy trees, and a warm life.
