Thuan Bai Communal House

Thuan Bai Communal House is an historical – revolutionary relic of the land at the border area of the northern Gianh River. This communal house was built by Thuan Bai people in the early 16th century, to commemorate the merits of the village founder, Duong Quoc Cong Tran Dat. During the resistance war against the French, the communal house was the place where villagers gathered to try to seize power, and was also where villagers gathered to vote to elect our country’s first National Assembly. During the war against America, the communal house was a stopping point for thousands of soldiers on their way to the South towards fighting the enemy. Thuan Bai Communal House is not only a symbol associated with the ups and downs of history, but also associated with cultural activities imbued with the identity of rice-field residents, and thusly worthy of being a spiritual tourist destination for tourists coming to Quang Binh. With great meaningful values having been preserved, Thuan Bai Communal House is ranked by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national historical and cultural relic.
